Cashfac Cookies Policy

Effective: June 2022

Your privacy and trust are important to us. This Policy explains how Cashfac PLC and its group companies (“Cashfac” “we”, “us” or “our”) use cookies and other internet tracking software, as well as the choices you can make about whether we can put some types of cookies on your PC, tablet or mobile phone.

In this Policy, where we say ‘cookies’ it can also mean other software that collects data while you use our websites and mobile apps.

Data we collect will be held by Cashfac and we use this data to:

• Protect you from fraud and keep improving security.
• Study how people use our websites and apps and our other services, so we can improve them.
• Decide which of our products, services and offers may be relevant for you.
• Tailor the marketing you see on social media, apps and other websites.

We may share this data with other companies in the Group. We also share some data with outside organisations. Some of them may place their own cookies on your device when you visit our website. You can find out more about how we share data – and who we share it with – in our Privacy Policy.

We do not sell personal data or personal identifiable information to any third parties.

What are cookies and other similar technologies?

Cookies are small files that are sent to your PC, mobile phone or tablet when you visit a website. They stay on your device and are sent back to the website they came from when you visit it again. Cookies collect data and send it to us while you use the site. These are written into mobile apps and web pages that you go to on your device. You can find more information about cookies at www.allaboutcookies.org or www.youronlinechoices.eu.

.The term cookie actually describes a range of technologies, including:

• pixel tags (transparent graphic images placed on a web page or in an email, which indicate that a page or email has been viewed),
• mobile device identifiers, and
• web storage used in desktop software or mobile devices.

We’ll use the term cookie throughout this Policy to cover all of these technologies, but we’ll make sure we provide you with clear details about them all so that you can make informed choices about your cookie settings.

Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving your user experience.

There are a few different categories of cookies, including:

Session and persistent cookies
Session cookies last for the length of your visit to a website. They delete themselves when you close your browser.

Persistent cookies these are cookies which stay on your device for a set period of time or until you delete them.

They are used for many jobs. For instance, they can remember your User ID for websites where you log on or store your choices for when you go back to a website.

Organisations find them useful to see how people use their websites.

First and third party cookies
Whether a cookie is first or third party depends on where it comes from.

First party cookies are set by the website that you are visiting at that time, either by us, or by a third party at our request

Third party cookies are set by outside organisations. For instance, you may be on a website that has ‘Like’ and ‘Share’ buttons for social network sites. If you click one, the social network site will put a ‘third party’ cookie on your device. That cookie may then collect data about you and send it to them too. You will need to set your privacy choices on their site, to tell them how they can use your data.

We use our own cookies and others from companies we work with such as social media, search engines, YouTube, and our business partners.

Where we place cookies
We set cookies in a number of different locations across our services. These include:
• On our websites (including wordpress.com)
• In the administrative dashboards of our websites, such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
• On sites we host for our users.
• In the automated and campaign emails we send.

Essential cookies and cookies you can choose
Different types of cookies do different jobs on our websites. Some are needed to make the website work. We need your consent to use others that are not essential. You can change your choices at any time.

Other important jobs they do are:

• Help you move around the site

• Tell us if you’ve been to it before and which pages you went to

• Tell us how the site is working, so we can find and fix any problems.

The information these cookies collect may include personal identifiable information that you have disclosed, such as your username or profile picture. We shall always be transparent with you about what information we collect, what we do with it and with whom we share it.

These cookies collect anonymous information on the pages visited. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how our services perform.

Web analytics that use cookies to gather data to enhance the performance of a website fall into this category. For example, they may be used for testing designs and ensuring a consistent look and feel is maintained for the user. This category does not include cookies used for behavioural/targeted advertising networks.

We may use this data to tailor the marketing and ads you see on our own and other websites and mobile apps, including social media. For instance, you may see our ads on other sites after you have been to our website.

How to manage your cookie preferences

Browser Cookies

You can at any time accept or refuse our use of cookies. There are a number of ways to manage cookies. Either by the buttons made available when entering the web page, or by changing the settings in your web browser. Most internet browsers are initially set up to automatically accept cookies. You can change the settings to block cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent to your device (usually located within the “Help”, “Tools” or “Edit” settings). Please refer to your browser instructions or help screen to learn more about how to adjust or modify your browser settings.

However, you should be aware that in case of refusal of the placing of cookies, some parts of the website may not function properly or may be inaccessible or the requested information, service or activity may not be supplied. For example, you may not be able to visit certain areas of the website or you may not receive personalised information when you visit our websites. To find out more information, you can visit www.allaboutcookies.org or www.aboutcookies.org.

If you use different devices to view and access our websites (e.g. your computer, smartphone, tablet etc.) you will need to ensure that each browser on each device is adjusted to suit your cookie preferences.

Mobile Identifiers

On your mobile device, your operating system may provide you with additional options to opt out of interest based advertising or to otherwise reset your mobile identifiers. For example, you may use the “Limit Ad Tracking” setting (on iOS devices) which allows you to limit the use of information about your use of apps for purposes of serving ads targeted to your interests.

Interest-Based Advertising

Certain targeted advertisements that we (or a service provider acting on our behalf) display to you based on information about your online activities across websites and other interactive properties operated by third parties may include the “Ad Choices” icon or another mechanism to opt out of receiving interest-based advertisements. You may click on the AdChoices icon or visit www.aboutads.info to receive more information about the collection and use of information about your online activities for interest based advertising or to learn how to opt out of having your data used for interest based advertising by Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) participating companies.

Keep in mind

Multiple users

If more than one person uses your device, the choices set up by other people will apply to you as well unless you change them. For example, if you share a computer with your family, you may see ads based on sites they have visited as well as sites you have visited.

Cookies with more than one use

Some of our cookies collect data for more than one use. We will only use these cookies for their essential purposes unless you have given your consent to any other uses they have.

Cookies that are already on your device

Turning off one or more types of cookies will not delete any that have been downloaded in the past. We may still use data we collected up to that point but will stop collecting new data.

Managing cookies choices in your browser

You can turn off or delete cookies in your browser. If you do this, it may affect sites that use similar cookies to us.

Cookies choices you set in your browser replace any you set on a single website. For instance, if you run an ad blocker on your browser, you won’t see ads that are tailored to you, even if you have turned on marketing cookies.
